Extracts

Written in 1816, it is the most famous opera by Gioachino Rossini, some even say that it is his greatest masterpiece.

The story of this opera is based on the French comedy Le barbier de Séville by Beaumarché. Beaumarché wrote his play in 1775 in which he tells the story of a young count who fell in love with Rosine: to seduce the woman, a barber, who is also a valet called FIGARO (t is the same Figaro that inspired Mozart in his opera Les noces de Figaro), helps the young count.
